Former Moses Lake kicker receives MCAC honors

Spencer Skeesick

MOSES LAKE — Former Moses Lake High School football player Spencer Skeesick was named Minnesota College Athletic Conference Western Division Athlete-of-the-Week, special teams, for the first week of the MCAC season.

Skeesick is the sophomore placekicker for the North Dakota State College of Science Wildcats. The Moses Lake native knocked in a 34-yard field goal in the fourth quarter to help his team pull away in a 38-28 victory. Skeesick also finished a perfect 5-5 on extra points to help the Wildcats start the season 1-0 in league play.

On the season as a whole, Skeesick is 2-2 on field goal attempts for NDSCS, going 5-6 on extra point attempts. The Wildcats sit at 1-1 on the season going after a loss this past weekend against Itasca Community College, 47-11.

In his freshman season with the Wildcats, Skeesick finished the year 6-15 on field goal attempts, 27-31 on extra points.

NDSCS will play their next game on the road against Concordia College JV on Sunday, Sept. 15.
