MOSES LAKE — Big Bend split a pair of lopsided games against Spokane.

Big Bend (5-1, 8-11) scored 10 runs in the sixth inning and took the opener 15-5 after seven innings. Spokane won another inning-shortened game in the night cap 11-1.

The Vikings erased a 5-2 deficit in Game 1 with 13 unanswered runs.

It was death by a thousand cuts in the sixth inning as the Vikings sprayed seven RBI singles. Ben Albrecht, Skyler Sadora and Sam Fagerness drove in two runs apiece on their hits. Fagerness finished with three hits, four RBIs and two runs scored. Tristen Garland and Sadora both doubled.

Big Bend starter Ryan Shipley worked five innings, allowing four runs on five hits.

Big Bend held a 1-0 lead in the second game only to allow Spokane to score eight runs in the fifth inning and three in the sixth. Spokane took advantage of five Viking errors to salvage the doubleheader split.

Trevor Luckey singled home Christian Santillan in the second inning for the Vikings’ lone run. Spokane’s Brenden Duncan hit a two-run homer and a three-run double, all in the fifth inning.
