Manweller fights despite Democratic tactics

Print Article

When Republican leadership in the House let the Dems pull the kind of stunt they did on Matt Manweller, and we respond to them, fanning our fainting faces at their accusations, we fall right into their spider web. They will continue to use this same kind of unprovable allegations against anyone who stands against their agenda.

While canvassing, the deciding factor for naive fence-sitters is “If the Republican Leadership asked him to step down they must have a reason.” If it happened, it was 36 years ago. The leadership team of the Republican caucus in Olympia gave our dangerous rivals a generous assist to take out one of the best fighting soldiers we have had for some time.

When the Washington Supreme Court broke Constitutional law, Manweller was combing the state to find good candidates for the Court. He found nine and ran three who were strong enough to withstand the threats against their careers, lives and family. They lost for lack of our support.

Democrats intended to pass an income tax. The people have said no over and again. Manweller stopped them. Pulling out of support for the budget was the only solution. They were livid. They got attack money from California. The CWU investigation was a witch hunt. Although several students denied the report as factual, the report is all that is remembered.

Matt Manweller was too effective. I would guess that what he may have done as a 17- to 24-year-old in high school and college, his Democratic opponents could equal. Shall we look into their past? Some of us look for the young to grow up and make something of themselves. Some people look for ways to destroy others to win. Consider the source. Vote Manweller and save the seat.
