QUINCY - The person who was fatally struck by a semi-truck just outside of Quincy on Thursday has been identified as an 18-year-old Quincy resident.

The semi-truck reportedly struck the pedestrian, identified as 18-year-old Quincy resident Edward Garcia, about 4:15 p.m. on state Route 281, just outside of Quincy. Garcia was seriously injured in the collision and was initially transported to Quincy Valley Hospital for treatment.

Garcia was later airlifted to a Spokane area hospital, but he reportedly died mid-flight. The Quincy Police Department says their investigation indicates Garcia intentionally entered the roadway.
