Pop Art for Teens

‘Peter and Wendy’

Free week-long theater camp for K-12 children. When Captain Hook sends his right-hand man, Smee, on a quest to capture Peter Pan, it’s seemingly business as usual — at first. Little does Hook realize what fantastic adventures await him and his pirate posse in their search for the elusive Peter Pan. Mistaken identities, ever-morphing clouds, a classy crocodile, some very lost boys, and a fickle shadow all add to the mayhem. Meanwhile, Mr. and Mrs. Darling embark on a quest of their own and find themselves trekking everywhere from Hawaii to the North Pole in search of their three missing children. Auditions are Monday 3-7:15 p.m.; rehearsals are Tuesday to Friday 3-7:15 p.m. and performances are Saturday at 3 p.m. and 6 p.m.. Tickets to performance $7 plus fees. Spring Break Art Camp

Spring Break Art Camp will expose children to a variety of beginner-level arts and crafts. Crafts will include marble-dipped mugs, recycled robot creation and STEM activities, tie-dying, painting projects, and more. A half hour each day will be spent on lunch/outside time in the Civic Center Park. Each child should bring a sack lunch each day; refrigeration is available. ‘Fires, Wrecks, and Floods: Highlights of Railroading in the Columbia Basin’

Free Family Saturday: Mammoth Days at the Museum

Bring the kids, grandkids, nephews and nieces for two hours of presentations on ice-age mammals, artifacts from the dig site, a mobile exhibit and plenty of hands-on activities. Moses Lake Farmers Market Spring Market

Ladies Concealed Carry 

Sportsman’s Warehouse is hosting a ladies-only concealed carry class to help women know how to be safe with firearms. The event is run by Legal Heat and the 4-hour comprehensive course is set to educate and empower women on the laws and regulations surrounding concealed firearms. ‘Sail on!' Beach Boys Tribute

‘Sail On!’ brings a young look and authentic sound reminiscent of the original Beach Boys during the prime of their career. The group’s harmonies capture the sound of the iconic band and transport the audience to the beach for an evening of memories and fun, fun, fun. Energetic and youthful tribute to “America’s band.” Presented by the Central Basin Community Concert Association. ‘And It Has Pockets! The Battle for Women’s Clothing Equality’

How many times have you heard someone wearing women’s clothing exclaim, “And it has pockets!” Comparisons have shown that modern garments designed for women have about half the storage space of clothing designed for men. Join costume designer Diane Johnston to dig into the pockets of the past, tracing the history of the humble pocket to determine if the battle for equality may still be decided by a few inches of extremely influential fabric. ‘Bright Star’

Basin Community Theater presents the musical story of one woman at two different points in her life: the first, when she is a wild young thing growing up barefoot and carefree in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina; the second, when she is a well-to-do magazine editor in Asheville, 22 years later. Her story is inevitably woven with that of an idealistic young man named Billy, with whom she shares a mysterious connection. Phoenix 

The American folk-pop duo Phoenix consists of award-winning songwriters Tim and Kathy Crosby, who have been performing together for well over two decades.  Together they have collaborated on several CDs and are known far and wide for their songwriting abilities and entertainment style. Your Road Home workshop

This workshop presents attendees with a road map to planning how to put the consumer in a position to buy a new home. Stop by the Smith Martin Building from 10-11:30 a.m. or attend via Zoom. ‘Stomp and Shout: The Untold Story of Northwest Rock and Roll’

Join author Peter Blecha to discover the lesser-known but vitally important bands and scenes that laid the foundation for what was to come — finally connecting all the dots between the fabled Northwest era of Ray Charles, Quincy Jones and Jimi Hendrix and the R&B-spiked roots of a distinct regional art form: the original Northwest Sound. ‘Conversations about Astrophotography’

Join local astrophotographer Mike Brady as he shares his astrophotography experiences and photo images. The presentation will include images of galaxies, nebulae, our moon, our sun, and comets. He will also be sharing his techniques and some of the equipment necessary for capturing these images.  The presentation will be an open forum in which questions from the audience are not only welcome but encouraged. Bourbon & Bowties

An elegant evening featuring Columbia Basin’s best wines, brews, spirits and fine dining. Bourbon & Bowties benefits Samaritan Healthcare Foundation’s mission to ensure the continued availability of high-quality healthcare programs and services offered through Samaritan Healthcare. All proceeds from this event will be allocated to Samaritan Healthcare’s new medical campus, to expand access to care and grow its specialties of care. Touch a Truck

Vehicles and construction equipment of all kinds will be on display for children to check out and even climb on. There will be food vendors, face painting, raffle prizes and more. The first hour is “quiet time,” with no sirens or loud music for children with sensory difficulties. ‘Jaku Mumor’

Okaidja Afroso ushers in a fresh breeze from the shores of Ghana’s Atlantic Gulf of Guinea, drawing from the ecological knowledge of the indigenous Ga-Dangme fishermen with “Jaku Mumor – Ancestral Spirit.” The power of nature-based rituals, and the connections that his ancestors had to the ­elements, particularly the Ocean are showcased with Okaidja’s distinctive style, creating a contemporary African oral tradition. The project utilizes percussion, guitar, dance, native language vocals, film and fashion to tell the story. ‘Home on the Range’ bus tour

A look at the flowers, sagebrush, bunch grass and other plants in the rangeland around Quincy. The speaker will be Quincy High School senior Levi Kukes, a two-time FFA “Top Hand” for the Western Region. Late April is wildflower time, and Kukes will share his knowledge of the flowers, grasses and other desert plants and how they fit into the landscape. David Shannon in concert

Often referred to as “Ireland’s greatest showman,” David Shannon has been singing professionally for more than 25 years and is renowned for his engaging performance style and charming personality. Along with his powerful vocals, he also incorporates the violin, Irish bodhran and multimedia into his concerts. His repertoire is an exciting mix of classic Irish songs and selections from his starring roles on Broadway and London’s West End. Presented by the Central Basin Community Concert Association.
